The challenge: a buyer with a specific model in mind

VELOCITY is an online sports footwear store with a wide range of brands and models. Delivery speed and packaging quality weren't the problem — buyers who order once come back. The problem was the moment the model isn't available: a sports footwear buyer usually knows exactly what they want — a specific model, size and maximum price. The problem arises when the site doesn't allow fast filtering or when the chosen model isn't available in their size.

At that moment most competitors lose the buyer — they close the tab and check another store. A site that offers a similar model in the same range keeps the buyer and closes the order.

What we did

We built the site around two rules — the buyer has to find their model in three clicks, and if the model isn't available, they have to see an alternative before closing the tab. Everything else follows that logic.

Catalog with advanced filters

The filter system allows combining size, color, brand, category (running, basketball, casual, football) and price range in real time. Results update instantly without page refresh. A buyer searching for "blue Nike running shoes size 43 up to 12,000 dinars" sees only the models matching all criteria in four clicks.

Clear product cards with available sizes

Every card shows a photo, name, price and a badge marking available sizes. The buyer instantly sees whether the model is available in their size — without opening a detailed page just to learn it isn't.

Similar-model recommendation system

When the buyer opens a model that isn't in stock in their size, the system immediately shows three to five similar models in the same category and price range. This is the key difference — instead of leaving, the buyer has a reason to stay and buy an alternative.

Hover zoom on products

When the cursor hovers over a product photo, the image enlarges and reveals details — stitching, material, sole. A buyer wanting a closer look doesn't have to open a gallery or click the photo. Fewer clicks, more conversion.

Cart and checkout in a few steps

The checkout flow is reduced to three steps — cart, shipping, payment. No mandatory account creation. Every unnecessary step near the end of the purchase increases abandonment — the site minimizes that.
